The problem with mankind is that they forgot that they were created by the creator, and to this I say to those who forget are doomed to repeat the past. We have gone further than forgetting we’ve converted. Brothers and sisters, I say please open your eyes before God closes them permanently and you find yourself on the wrong side of eternity, this is my cry to all who will hear my cry. God, I pray that you would call them back to you in Jesus Name Amen.
I write this because this is the same cry Paul had for those who were falling away in that day and today’s falling away is greater.
The element in the center of it all is the pride of life. Pride is the deciding factor between a heavenly or a hellish eternity. God tells us to choose this day who we are to serve Me or man. People it is simple we need to first make that choice in our heart whom we will serve and hold fast to that choice in our life. Look I said it is a simple step never did I say it will be easy, nothing worth something is ever easy. So, I want to make something very clear in this study how we as the light have to look differently from the darkness. If we cannot make a clear distinction of this simple truth, then this is where you will have start in your walk to salvation. Here are some verses to help you see how pride can stop this from being done in your life if you do not start here.
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
We must move away or reframe from thinking we know it all this is what will lead us to destruction at the end. The main issue is our hearts, we are not willing to turn it over to the Creator, the lack of such a thing is very dangerous to our salvation. We must come to the father with a clear state of mind erase all we think we may know or understand about life or ourselves. Here is where the big P (pride) comes into play, we choose to listen to man instead of the one who created man, the Creator.
So, for me to make clear what it is that the pride of life does to the soul, I will start with this verse with that shows why God had to die for us to be saved. Men’s hearts is naturally sinful and if we are not willing to accept this it will be hard for those that don’t to move forward. This is what is missing at the pulpit. The truth of what sin dose and how it can manipulate you to seeing or accepting a false truth. There are so many things that we learn by just seeing and hearing what is going on around us in our everyday life and these thing leads us to deception. We have to put in the work to see if what is being said is true, we cannot just accept it cause everyone else does. We have to be like the Berean’s spoken about in Acts and research it for ourselves.
And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
I want you to see the depth of His love for His creation, if you think about it deeply you will see that this was the only time Jesus went against the father. This happened in Gethsemane at the foot of the mount of olives Jesus prayed to the father about the burden that he would have to carry out for mankind, so Jesus said to the Father if it be your will Father let it be done.
I’ve been deeply researching this and have seen how that we are our own worst enemy, we don’t even need the enemy to intervene with us being deceived because we’ve already have deceived ourselves. Before I continue, I want to share some verses with you.
Romans 5:12-15
12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. 13 Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. 14 Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come. 15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
So, in order for us to defeat Pride we will have to learn that denying ourselves is very good soul food to killing the pride in our hearts. The simplest way for me to define pride is with theses words, put others needs before what you want as Jesus did for you on the cross it is that simple. Here are some key points to help us attain what is needed in this journey with Christ, so we are not led astray.
1. Forget everything we think we may know about, everything.
Let yourself be a blank canvas for the Most- High God.
2. Most importantly deny yourself daily is a requirement that is necessary to your walk with the Holy Spirit. Here’s some key verse to help us see that we are no long our own we were brought for a price that cannot be paid back. So please understand that we are no longer the same we are now made in the image of Christ Jesus so that everything we say and do God see’s us as the son.
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
These words in Romans makes it very clear; we are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice. I want to bring some clarity to these two verses which I feel the understanding on this is lacking deeply in many people. I believe the teaching on this is watered down. So, I want to share with you what the Holy Spirit told me on this and how it helped me to see things in a very different way.
I want to start with this key word Paul used to start the conversation or teaching he said I beseech you. The Webster dictionary give us this meaning of the word beseech. to implore urgently: to beg eagerly for; solicit.
To Paul this was very important and had to be accomplish in order for them to receive their salvation. Well I am going to let you in on a secret this hasn’t change, it is more so today than in those days. So, with that said it is very important for us to look at these verses and see that God thru Paul was asking us to make a life changing decision on behalf of our eternity. So, making yourself a living sacrifice is a daily requirement for salvation meaning deny yourself everything you may think you know and guard you heart with the words of the most-High God. Giving up all prideful thoughts and things so our minds can clearly see Jesus’s as the soul truth for life. Here is the part I don’t think is made clear over the pulpit, is this when you are transform you are now a new creature in Christ Jesus all thing has passed away and you have been made new.
This new thing is not natural to us in our fallen nature, and if you think you can continue with how you were and be made new brothers and sisters you have been deceived. The two cannot dwell in the same camp for long one will devour the other. Being transform by the renewing of the mind means we see and understand that our ways leads to death and Jesus is the way to life. See once you have come to the true understanding of this God send the helper who is called the Holy Spirit. He we guide you thru all things righteous. See I am about to say somethings that will probably start some controversy, but I am going to say them anyway. Because God give us a heart and a brain so we cam think rationally. See god know our heart so even if we say these word God knows if they are true or not. If you are not being truthful, the helper is not sent to those and they are the ones who will be led to deception. Many think they are in the right but are actually prideful and cannot see the truth until they release that prideful things in their life. This hold's them back from being blessed with the Holy Spirit. If we are not transformed by the renewing of our minds we will then be conformed to the ways of this fallen generation. The renewing of the mind is to have a teachable spirit, if we are not willing to turn away from what we know or think we know to be true we will not be able to be renewed. We must put off the prideful nature within us so that God can remake us.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV –
20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Ephesians 4:22-24 NKJV
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Galatians 5:17 NKJV
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
2 Timothy 3:12 NKJV
12 Yes, and all who desire to *live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Titus 2:12 NKJV
12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
1 Peter 2:1-6 NKJV
1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious. 4 Coming to Him [as to] a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God [and] precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame."
1 Corinthians 15:31 NKJV
31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
3. Being set apart be separate and embracing it.
4. Never relay on your own knowledge of a thing.
Take everything as a grain of salt and line whatever was said to scripture. This must be an everyday process; we cannot process the things of this world on what is being taught or said.
5. Not every word a Pastor says is gospel.
