How we are Made in His Image

1 Corinthians 3:16

Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?

The body is where all your senses are laid out and is called the functions of the body, within your body you have the soul and the spirit. Here are the five senses

1. Touch (Skin or Hand)

2. Hearing (ears)

3. Seeing (eyes)

4. Smelling (Nose)

5. Tasting (Mouth)

The soul is tied to what scripture speaks of when the writers talk about the heart, we today call it our conscious. If you look carefully you will see that the heart is connected to both soul and spirit. This my brothers and sisters are where the war rages in us all. Here is where the great divide lives within all of mankind and the war is played out, so this is why you need to feed the spirit more than the flesh.

There is a simple teaching about two dogs and who is stronger, if you have two dogs and you treat one better than the other you will have dissention between the two dogs. What starts to happen is natural because you have caused the one dog to dislike the other, the one being treated nice is ok and does not see the resentment from the other dog. The thing is you feed one more and better that the other dog which make the other dog weaker and mad. Here is a verse for Jesus the tells us the same story.

Matthew 6:24

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

I hope you can see where I am going with this analogy if not you soon will. Notice in the body you have the soul (who you truly are) which is being pulled in two directions, one leads to death and the other leads to life. The one you feed the most will be the one who leads your life. This is basic math one plus one equals two. The simplicity of this is mind boggling because we as the light of the world should know this, however, we still struggle to open the book. I was at my eternal brother’s cabin this weekend pass and we spoke on this very thing, how we need to be more in the word but choose to be more in the world and this is unacceptable, and we need to take a stand. I write this because I also need to take a stronger stand for the Lord if I truly love Him. My heart is heavy with this and hope that we can pray for one another and stand and after it is said and done that, we would not waiver but stand.

Extraordinarily enough we are still loved and forgiven in every measure, how great and awesome is our God thank you Jesus. We must also understand that God is with us and will never stand against us it is us who stand against Him and ourselves. I believe that these verses will explain it better.

1 Peter 2:24 ESV

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Ephesians 6:12 ESV

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Romans 8:31 ESV

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Not sure who will read this blog but I know that there are those that do not believe that the soul and the spirit are two different thing. I do not want to be dogmatic about this, but I will add some verses that I hope will help you see why I came to that conclusion.

Gen 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Like I said I am not dogmatic on this but if you look at creation it also has the triune aspect of God as well. There is a pastor who does an outstanding job explaining this in a debate that he was having with an atheist.

He explained the three threes that came to life when God said let there be light, and it was. How the earth has three things, that it is made of and these three thing shows us Gods creation.

1.Time 2. Space 3. Matter

1. Time is past present and future. (let there be Light)

2. Space has length withed height. (The heavens)

3. Matter has solid liquid and gas. (The firmament earth)

Gen 1:2, 6, 8 KJV - 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. ... 6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. ... 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

I found a poster from a website that explains the triune in detail thank you and God bless.

I hope this bless all who reads this post, and brings them closer to our Lord and Savior
