Today I am going to speak on this topic ignorance, there is a phrase out in the world that here Christian taking a liking to. The phrase is ignorance is bliss, but it is not bliss, its many thing but bliss is not one. My biggest fear is that it can lead you to death. I will share some verses that shows us that not being informed can be very harmful.
Hosea 4:6 ESV
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
Isaiah 5:13 ESV
Therefore my people go into exile for lack of knowledge; their honored men go hungry, and their multitude is parched with thirst.
Jeremiah 4:22 ESV
“For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are ‘wise’—in doing evil! But how to do good they know not.”
I would advise all who read this post to read the whole account of Hosea 4, it shows the arrogance of the Jews in those day as so are we today. These verses show that being ignorant is not bliss but death. This death is not the first death but the second death that leads to the lake of fire.
Consequently, I will tie how following the wrong gospel can lead to death. When we are deceived, we do not know we are being duped. One of two things will happen you will live in the deception which may lead to death. The second one is being willing to listen humbly to a different perspective with the facts provide of course, this should be the only way you receive truth. Truth is in the words of God so when we go to it, We need to view the bible as a life teaching manual for this the only way we can truly be saved. Remember what Paul the apostle said to Galatian’s in his writings,
Galatians 1:8-13
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! 10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
Paul spoke about not having the right gospel, and to me this is the scariest part of our walk with Christ that I could be following the wrong gospel. Man, this is scary that if you are not studying the word you could be following the wrong gospel and realize it when it’s too late.
Fear not Paul explains how we will know if we are following the correct gospel in the above verses, and there are more scriptures that makes it even clearer.
I think the problem with man kind is that we want to have the answers to it all, but God says to us we cannot because it all lies with Him and in Him only, we can have knowledge wisdom and truth. Society today has dumb people down through media, this is the tool that they use to keep us under there spell. This is why they hate the true followers of the Lord and savior and His word because in this we will have truth which set souls free.
The first thing you need to do is remove yourself from it all, be a blank sheet so you can see the truth for what it is. Today’s pastors and preachers want to give you their interpretation of the word and this is where most people go wrong. They know you will not question their authority on scripture. Most people will take their words to be the authoritative truth on scripture because of their position in the church or to society. The missing subsists is the knowledge of how God wants us to seek Him because He is the only authoritative truth on His word. This tells us we are to investigate every spirit to confirm it to be truthful.
I will apply a few verses that will tell you a better story on how the world hates the children of God.
The first thing we need to be is Bereans as it speaks of in Acts; Acts 17:11
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
Which leads us to look at things in a different way, for the Lords way are not like our, just is a man in Christ ways is not like a man of the world. Ephesians 2:2-4 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.[b] 4 But[c] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
If you recognize that we are not like the world children of disobedience but are now children of the most High God then it is easy to see that the way we now see is different. So the way we saw things was not of righteousness but of a worldly perspective. I hope these verses bless you as they did me when I was walking in my confusion it was hard and lonely. It got lonely because I started to understand thing not with feelings or what I thought to be right but with the word of God which is the origin of truth and my mind. Realizing that I do not have truth on the things of this world I went to where truth started so I can see in clarity.
This is where media is also causing mass confusion and have been for hundreds of years. The world views things like what is your truth. For me to explain in detail how man cannot have there own truth would take a lot, what I will do instead is provide you with a link that explains this. Please empathize that we cannot have foundational truth because it's non-changing, it is the same yesterday, today and forever. Man on the other hand changes with the flow of the wind to fit their feelings and the narrative of the day.
Follow our own narrative is very dangerous and God is clear on this in His word. Because of our sinful nature no real good can come out of us for the verses in proverbs reads like this; There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Proverbs 14:12
we must not be lead by our hearts or emotions because its end is death. I will leave you with the verse in Jerimiah that speaks of the condition of our hearts.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it, I the Lord search the heart and test the mind,[a] to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
