Remember lots wife

Updated: Dec 1, 2020

Today I want to do a short teaching: there is a verse that I don’t think people take seriously enough. I believe it may be the shortest verse in the bible. In Luke 17:32 Jesus says remember lots wife.

Luke 17:32-33

32 Remember Lot’s wife.33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Now reading this you can see that Jesus was making it clear what He was conveying to us in these words. Jesus was making a stand on where our hearts should be, are we still tied to the affairs of this world or are we diligently moving away from the things of this world. If we are allowing the false, trinkets of this world to hold us back from what God has for us we will lose our eternal live. See Lot’s wife was still in the now and her heart was heavy for what she had in that town, so she looked back and lost everything. See her heart was not for the Lord it was for the world, even after they took her out of Solomon her heart and affections were still grounded in Solomon.

So where do your heart and affections reside, are they in Christ Jesus or in this fallen world. If you are conflicted in finding the answer, then it is clear that you heart is still tied to the affairs of this world. If this is where you find yourself don’t worry because it is not to late, the hour may not be late, but it will be difficult. You will first need to commit yourself to our Lord and savior then evaluate what is the cause of your denial. This may be the hardest thing you will have to do but nevertheless you will have to do it. I say this because I know for most people it is family, and this is a hard pill to swallow, and that is why you need to commit yourself to Him and Him alone in prayer and through scripture. I am a witness to this.

God in His great wisdom showed me the hearts of people who say they are for Him, but their hearts are far from Him, this will be members of your family and your friends. However, if we stay grounded in Him, we will see the hypocrisy in it all. God does not want you to be confuse or conformed in this matter just renewed in Him. It is important for us to remember where God took us from and how He did it. Because it is in this sobering act from our lord and savior that should change our perspective in all we do. So, let me share, God left His estate and took on humanity so that we could be saved. So, remember Lot’s wife for one reason and that reason is to understand that losing your life will gain you eternal life. If Lot’s wife would have had that in her heart, she would have been ok. So, I say that it is well with my soul to lose my life for Jesus sake and not my.

I will share some more verses on this to help you see that it is the individual that needs to make the decision to follow Jesus.

Peter began to say to him, “See, we have left everything and followed you.” Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.

To me this one from mark is the icing on the cake I love this one. So, do not be weary and keep all of your loved ones in prayer, it is the true way to when hearts over to God.

I will now change it to remember Jesus and what he did so we can be free this is the reason we should be getting up every morning, to praise and worship Him. To God be all the glory. Thank you, Jesus, for this great opportunity.
