On today’s blog I want to share with you how the Holy Spirit has always been here since the beginning of creation with God in Genesis. However, most people believe that the Holy Spirit came after Jesus ascended well this is wrong, I will provide for you some truths on this. I will use these questions below to show and provide the evidence needed to show you and hopefully you’ll believe.

- The first two is pretty simple and cut and dry and to the point, but the rest of them are a little more complicate.
- Here in Genesis, we see the first signs of the Holy spirit. Do you know that the spirit of God is the Holy Spirit?
Genesis 1:2
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
- Who is the Holy Spirit? In John 14:26 the Holy Spirit is the helper that God gave us after Jesus ascended.
- The Holy Spirit is what will keep us grounded in all that is true, and this is why we need the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy spirit is for salvation, for without it you cannot be saved or be born again it is the gift the God gives to all who calls on the name of the lord for salvation.
- See without the Spirit of God we would not have truth, because man cannot rely on their own understanding for a righteous or moral view of life.
- In Proverbs it is said that we should not rely on our own understanding and Jeremiah tells us how desperately wicked and deceitful our hearts are.
- I really want us to have a clear understanding that without the Holy Spirit you cannot have eternal life.
- It is said born twice die once and born once die twice, how many people here know that we will not see the second death because the Holy Spirit. How awesome is that brothers and sister I tell you it leaves me speechless.
John 14:26
What the Holy Spirit is “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
Matthew 1:18
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.”
- Here is concrete evidence that Jesus had no human father, thereby avoiding original sin. The Holy Spirit Himself is how Jesus was conceived in Mary and by Him and by the human mother Mary, Jesus was begotten of the Holy Seed or by God Himself. This also clearly shows that Mary was a virgin at conception because the Scripture says, “before they came together, she was found to be with child” but it was not from a man but “from the Holy Spirit.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.
- This verse her is clear we are no longer our own, we have been brought for a price that we cannot repay
1 Corinthians 7:22-23
For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings.
- Here in these two verses, it explains how God freed us from sin and called us to himself. Once again, we were brought at a price we could never repay.
- Then is says we are not to become slaves of this world again.
- So here I will insert the verses on how our helper is.

John 14:26
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
- Here is evidence that the Holy Spirit is a Person as He is identified as the “Helper” and by name, the “Holy Spirit.” Both are capitalized because they are a Person…a proper noun and the Spirit is called a “He” who will teach us “all things” and will “bring remembrance [to] all that [Jesus] said to [them].” Again, that sounds like the work of a Person and not a force because we see the use of “He,” the “Helper,” and the “Spirit” and even the “Holy Spirit.” This is He Who the Father was to send. Jesus said, the Father “shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth” (John 14:16) again evidence of the Spirit being a Person being called the names, the “Comforter” and the “Spirit of truth.”
- How do you know that you have truly received the Holy Spirit? So many think it’s a feel, but it is not.
- The Holy spirit is a decision you make, what I mean by that is once you have repented and turned from you receive it but your fruits will show it clearly.
- When you receive the helper, you will know because the former things of your life that did not line up with God will grieve you.
- God said he will send a helper that helper is the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit will give us a spirit of truth and will convict you in this.
- First you need to know all unclean things are common to all flesh so do not let the enemy deceive in no way on this issue.
Isaiah 11:2
And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
Ezekiel 36:26-27
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
1. Love - "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him" (1 John 4:16). Through Jesus Christ, our greatest goal is to do all things in love. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
2. Joy - "The joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10). "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2).
3. Peace - "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1). "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).
4. Long-suffering (patience) -- We are "strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness" (Colossians 1:11). "With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love" (Ephesians 4:2).
5. Gentleness (kindness) -- We should live "in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left" (2 Corinthians 6:6-7).
6. Goodness - "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power" (2 Thessalonians 1:11). "For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth" (Ephesians 5:9).
7. Faith (faithfulness) - "O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth" (Isaiah 25:1). "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith" (Ephesians 3:16-17).
8. Meekness - "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted" (Galatians 6:1). "With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love" (Ephesians 4:2).
9. Temperance (self-control) - "But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love" (2 Peter 1:5-7).
